Public Participation

Ross Incineration Services, Inc. (RIS) operates under several different operating permits from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA). Whenever the facility wants to make changes to its management procedures, mechanical operations or the wastes it handles, then it must secure a permit modification.

U.S. EPA and Ohio EPA regulations require Ross Incineration Services to notify the public whenever the company submits a request to modify one of its operating permits. In addition, the Ross Incineration facility participates in a number of other regulatory programs, required by the U.S. and Ohio EPA, which also have public participation requirements.

The Ross Environmental Communications Department is responsible for managing public participation in accordance with EPA regulatory requirements. This includes public notices, mailings to the RIS official facility mailing list and public meetings.

Facility Mailing List

The Official Facility Mailing List is used to contact local residents, elected officials, news media and others with regulatory updates, including notification of permit modification requests.

To be added to the mailing list, contact the Corporate Communications Department.
