July, 2008 - Ross
Transportation Services, Inc. (RTS) drivers reached a major safety
milestone recently when they successfully logged 2 million safe
driving miles. Congratulations to all of the RTS drivers: Ron

"Congratulations
to our drivers for achieving this outstanding milestone. Driving
safely is important to them and to all of us at the Ross companies,
as we all work together to be the safest TSD and Transportation
Company in the industry," said William E. Cromling, III,
President of RTS.
Cromling emphasized
that achieving this safety milestone took the work of many people.
All of the associates at RTS contribute to this safe driving record.
He said that driver awareness and training are both important
to safety. However, learning to be a safe driver takes more than
classroom training and lectures.
Another key to safety
on the road is vehicle maintenance, Cromling added. RTS technicians
ensure that the drivers can operate their vehicles safely by performing
vehicle maintenance on a regular schedule. Thank you to everyone
in the RTS garage for their hard work - Fred Taylor, Marcia Zimmerman,
Dave Murry, Jim Clifford and Tom Tomes.
Finally, scheduling, permitting and training also play a role
in safety and Dawn Palmer, Susan Kaiser and the Logistics Team
of Mike Sunyak, Char Pachniuk and Dawn Martin play an important
role in the safe operation of RTS. Properly scheduling drivers
and equipment helps to prevent fatigue, ensures adequate driving
time for each trip and ensures that they drive safely.
