Community Relations

Corporate Contributions & Employee Volunteers

The Ross companies believe that it is important to play a meaningful role in the local community. The companies participate in community events and projects in a variety of ways. This includes providing corporate contributions to fund programs and projects as well as identifying employee volunteers to work with local organizations. The companies also participate in several local and county-wide community events on an annual basis.

Requests for Contributions

The Ross Environmental Services Community Relations Department coordinates all requests for corporate contributions and for employee volunteers. To be eligible for a corporate contribution, an organization must be either a 501c3 non-profit organization or be affiliated with the Midview Local School District or Elyria City School District. Contributions are not made to individuals, for travel or study abroad, for individual scholarships, for adult sports teams or for professional "travelling" fundraising events (such as circuses or plays).

All contribution requests must be made in writing and submitted to: Community Relations Department, Ross Environmental Services, Inc., 150 Innovation Drive, Elyria, OH 44035. They can also be e-mailed to: Community Relations E-mail.

Employee Volunteers

Employees of the Ross companies are active members of the Lorain County community and the communities in which they reside. Community organizations who are looking for volunteers to assist with projects; serve on Boards and Committees; or provide in-kind services, should contact the Community Relations Department. Please provide the following information: name, address and phone number of organization; description of volunteer needs; description of skill set desired (i.e. someone with marketing background, someone who knows computers, etc.); description of project, committee or board; time estimate for the volunteer assignment (how many hours per month will be required) and the name and phone number of a contact person. This information can either be mailed to the Community Relations Department or e-mailed to: Community Relations E-mail.

Community Events

Each year, the Ross companies also participate in several local and county-wide community events. The companies participate each October in Eaton Township Dumpster Days. As part of this event, held at the township hall, employees collect household hazardous waste materials from local residents and safely transport and dispose of them. This service is provided at no charge to the township or to local residents.

The companies have been the co-sponsors of the 4-H Trash Barrel Painting Contest at the Lorain County Fair in conjunction with the Lorain County Solid Waste Management District in an effort to educate 4-H members and fairgoers about environmental issues.

The company also participates in the Lorain County Metro Parks' Holiday Lights program each November and December. Employee volunteers create a holiday light display in the woods at the Carlisle Reservation as part of this wonderful holiday event.

In addition, the company has participated in science fairs, environmental science fairs, career days, and teacher/industry education days as well as sponsoring local youth sports teams.
