Cost
Accountant
Ross Environmental Services, Inc., a pioneer in the hazardous
and industrial waste management industry for more than 50 years, is
currently seeking a detail oriented and energetic Cost Accountant.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Works closely with operations and marketing teams to develop and
monitor process costs and product family gross margins.
- Analyzes and prepares reports comparing actual costs to budgeted
costs including the analysis and comparison of factors affecting prices
and profitability.
- Assists with capital appropriations financial analysis, tracks and
closes capital projects, maintains fixed asset system and capital
spending reporting.
- Identifies areas of overspending or waste, assists in development
of cost reduction opportunities and assists in implementation of these
ideas.
- Prepares journal entries, and assists with month-end/year-end closings,
reporting and other schedules including account reconciliations, quarterly
forecasts and annual budgets.
- Supports group with special projects, and internal policy development
as assigned.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Bachelor's degree, major in Accounting and 3-5 years previous cost
accounting experience in a job cost or process cost environment.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to follow established policies,
procedures and practices.
- Must be experienced in Excel and Word. Experience with accounting
software packages is a plus.
- Experience with multi-corporations or divisions are highly desirable.
- Must be willing to work extended hours as necessary.
